Welcome to bidbata, the infrastructure layer for social commerce. We provide specialized storefronts and secure transaction logic for social sellers in Nigeria. bidbata is not a party to the transaction and does not take ownership of goods sold. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our platform and infrastructure services.

By accessing or using bidbata, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. User Accounts

To access certain features of bidbata, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use our services
  • You are responsible for keeping your account information updated
  • You must not share your account with others

3. Infrastructure Features

Bio-Link Storefronts

bidbata provides custom, commerce-enabled "link-in-bio" pages that sync with social media profiles to showcase product catalogs.

Frictionless Checkout

We provide checkout infrastructure that enables guest purchases and single-product checkout pages, reducing transaction friction for social followers.

Automated Settlement

Using Paystack Split Payments, we automate the distribution of funds to sellers immediately upon transaction verification.

3. Subscription Tiers & Fees

bidbata operates on a tiered subscription and commission model:

  • Free Tier: ₦0/month with a 5.0% platform commission.
  • Seller Tier: ₦1,500/month with a 2.5% platform commission.
  • Pro Seller Tier: ₦4,500/month with a 1.5% platform commission.
  • Agency Tier: ₦15,000/month with a 0.5% platform commission.

All commissions are capped per transaction. Payment processing fees (Standard Paystack Fees) apply to all transactions over ₦2,500.

6. Liability and Disclaimers

bidbata is the infrastructure layer for social commerce. We provide the technical framework for transactions between sellers and buyers. bidbata is not a party to the transaction and does not take ownership of goods sold. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of items listed, the truth or accuracy of listings, or the ability of users to complete transactions.

7. Tax Responsibilities

Each user is solely responsible for determining, declaring, and remitting applicable taxes arising from their transactions. This includes but is not limited to income tax, sales tax, VAT, or any other applicable taxes based on your local jurisdiction.

bidbata does not provide tax advice and recommends consulting with a qualified tax professional regarding your specific tax obligations.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities. You may also close your account at any time through your account settings.
